The National Weather service confirmed seven tornadoes touched down across the Tri-State on Friday.The largest of the tornadoes were in Holton, Ind., Crittenden and Piner, Ky., and Moscow, Ohio. All three tornadoes measured at EF3 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.The NWS said the tornado in Moscow measured 20 miles in length and was a quarter-mile wide. Winds in this tornado reached 160 mph. The tornado is blamed for killing one person in Moscow and two people in Bethel.The tornado in Holton measured between 10 and 11 miles in length and was about 350 yards wide, according to the NWS. That tornado reached a maximum speed of 145 mph and killed two people.A quarter-mile tornado carved out a 10-mile stretch from Crittenden to Piner, killing four people. The NWS said winds in this tornado topped out at 160 mph.Another tornado in Owen County reached wind speeds of 125 mph. The NWS rated this tornado as an EF2.Adams County registered the most tornadoes Friday, with three. The NWS said West Union saw two tornadoes within three minutes of each other. The tornadoes measured EF2 and EF0. The stronger of the two covered 11 miles, damaging several homes and killing a dozen cattle.The other tornado in Adams County occurred near Seaman. The NWS said it stretched three miles and registered as an EF1 with maximum wind speeds of 100 mph. This tornado caused damage to some structures and snapped and uprooted numerous trees.Two other tornadoes were confirmed on the fringe of the Tri-State in Carroll County, Ky., and in Scioto County, Ohio.
