Disney has released the full trailer for "," offering our first look at Scar and that infamous stampede.
The spectacular trailer is our best look yet at Jon Favreau's remake that isn't live-action, but a continuation of the photo-realistic CGI that he used on "The Jungle Book."
Chiwetel Ejiofor looks to have nailed Scar's voice as well, chillingly stating: "Life's not fair, is it my little friend? While some are born to feast, others spend their life in the dark, begging for scraps."
There will be plenty of shots in the trailer that will be familiar to fans of the original, including the stampede, which leads to heartbreak for Simba and the growing-up transition with Simba, Timon and Pumbaa.
And if you wait until after the title, you'll also get a tease of Timon and Pumbaa (now voiced by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen) singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."
What we haven't heard yet is either Donald Glover or Beyoncé Knowles-Carter's takes on central characters Simba and Nala.
We've been promised, though, that the remake .
"'The Lion King' is a revered and beloved movie, so you'd better revere and love those parts that the audience wants. But there are things in the movie that are going to be new. [And] it is a new form of filmmaking," promised Disney producer Sean Bailey.
"The Lion King" will be released July 19.
