blaster from ": Return of the Jedi" sold for $550,000 at the Hollywood Legends auction in Las Vegas over the weekend.
It's thought that Ripley's Believe It or Not is behind this rather extravagant purchase, and there's no news yet on what the buyers plan to do with the prop.
The blaster gun was the highest-selling item at the auction and was part of "Return of the Jedi" director James L. Schoppe's collection. He also had an Imperial Scout trooper blaster from the film that sold for $90,625.
Other items in the auction included a costume from "Superman III" that was worn by Superman himself, Christopher Reeve, which sold for an estimated $200,000. A black wool dress, said to have been worn by none other than Marilyn Monroe, went for $50,000.
