Cincinnati chef nominated for James Beard Award, one year after opening 'The Aperture'
A Cincinnati chef is getting some major accolades.
The prestigious James Beard Awards has nominated Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown for Best Emerging Chef one year after opening The Aperture.
Anthony-Brown, a Cincinnati native who graduated from St. X, is more surprised than most!
He spent his teens and 20s following what he thought he should be doing 바카라 게임 웹사이트 financial consulting 바카라 게임 웹사이트 but kept coming back to his true passion in restaurants.
After working at Boca as the sous chef, he achieved his dream of opening his own restaurant just over a year ago in the historic Paramount Building in Walnut Hills.
Now, the awards are pouring in.
"While it might be an individual award, to me that more was indicative of all meant to me as culture, to me that just means we have a good culture, and that culture extends to the guests and all the people that come in here," Anthony-Brown explained. "That's what I told my team. I was like, 'Look, it might be my name on there, but you guys did the work.'"
The Aperture is coastal: Mediterranean/Italian with a Middle Eastern flair. More than anything, Anthony-Brown says he wants every bite to feel like comfort and familiarity for guests who dine there.
Anthony-Brown is one of three Cincinnati chefs and bar professionals to be recognized as semifinalists. David Jackman (Wildweed) and Mike Stankovich (Longfellow) were also nominated.
