A group of basketball players are being praised on social media for stopping their game and taking a knee as a funeral procession passed in Louisiana. WAFB reports Lynn Bienvenu and Johannah Stroud were in Franklinton on Friday to attend the funeral of their cousin. As the procession passed Franklinton Junior High School, the sisters noticed something that moved them. The boys stopped their game and dropped to their knees in a sign of respect for the grieving family. "They took a knee not out of disrespect, but out of honor," Bienvenu wrote in her post. "There was not an adult in sight to tell them to stop playing."The image has been shared more than 1,000 times. Since the post went viral, Bienvenu said one of the boys has reached out to her personally to express condolences. She said the simple act reminded her why she has such love for her small hometown. "This meant a great deal to our family," Bienvenu wrote. " May God bless each one as I feel they will achieve greatness."
