WATCH: Mother and her kids narrowly escape a manhole explosion in Poughkeepsie, New York
A potential tragedy was narrowly averted in Poughkeepsie, New York, on Saturday when a woman and two children narrowly escaped a manhole explosion.
The City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department released showing the dramatic moment of their escape. In the video, a woman can be seen pushing what appears to be a stroller while another child walks by her side. Moments after they walk over the manhole, an explosion occurs, sending dust, concrete, and what appears to be smoke into the air.

City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department NY Local 596 said a manhole halfway down the block and another at a nearby intersection had also exploded and 'very narrowly' missed three pedestrians.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the explosions, the fire department said.
Fire crews detected high carbon monoxide levels in several nearby buildings, prompting the evacuation of the entire block until the gas was cleared.
