Gregor Clegane, a knight of House Clegane, the older brother of Sandor Clegane, and better known as "The Mountain," is a very strong man. But he's also just a character on "Game of Thrones." In real life, the actor who plays The Mountain, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, now has a nickname of his own: World's Strongest Man.
While celebrating with his team, the Icelandic powerlifter announced his victory on Instagram after being crowned the World's Strongest Man on Sunday in Manila. He dominated three of the weekend's final events, which included deadlifting cars and dragging anvils around from place to place, as one does. The World's Strongest Man competition confirmed his title as well.
The most surprising news may not be that Bjornsson won, but that it's his first WSM championship. He has regularly finished in the top three for nearly a decade, but this year marks the first time he's made it to the top. Get it? Like a mountain?
