Deputies: Taser used on man found in woman's car; sheriff's cruiser struck in flee attempt
Hamilton County sheriff's deputies used a taser on a man early Thursday morning in Symmes Township after he hit a deputy cruiser while in a car that was his not his, according to officials.
Deputies say a woman called law enforcement after finding a man, 27-year-old Michael West, sitting inside of her vehicle outside a frozen yogurt shop on Montgomery Road.
Officials say West gained entry into the vehicle after breaking a window to the vehicle.
"The criminal came out of the car and he started to explain he just needed a place to stay," the owner of the car, Roxana Turner, told 바카라게임. "He asked me for the keys. I said, 'I'll give you the keys,' but because I was in shock, I was not coordinating my words with the action. He got impatient. He said 'Give me the keys or I'll kill you.'"
Turner said at that moment, she thought only of her son, and gave the keys to the suspect.
Deputies say West attempted to flee the scene at a high rate of speed, but struck a cruiser, causing damage, and fleeing from the vehicle.
Officials say deputies caught up to the suspect and used a taser on him before placing him under arrest.
West has been charged with robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and criminal damage.
Officials say a deputy sustained minor injuries during the arrest and was treated at Bethesda North and released.
