Loveland elementary teacher among finalists for $10K dream vacation. Here's how to vote for her.
A Greater Cincinnati teacher is one of 20 teachers nationwide who are finalists to win a $10,000 dream vacation.
Terri Bean, a special education aide at Loveland Elementary School, is in the running to win a dream vacation as part of the Sunshine For Teachers program, sponsored by Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
"Winning a $10K dream vacation through the Sunshine for Teachers contest would affirm that I am making a difference," Bean said . "I believe if I were to win, it would be making a statement that the work I do is worthy of the prize that is being rewarded and that I truly am succeeding at bringing sunshine to my work place."
Bean has her hands across multiple efforts at Loveland Elementary, including mentoring students who have a troubled home life; is a member of the Sunshine Committee that sends cards, well wishes and meals to staff members that need some cheer; and help plan parties, events and school activities to help keep spirits up.
She's also been a morning greeter for 12 years, with Bean's face being the first many students see, to help set the tone for their day.
"I am blessed to no end by having the position in the district with the people I get to work with every single day," Bean said of her role in LES' special education department, a department she's worked with for 15 years.
To help give Bean her dream getaway vacation, . You'll be asked to submit an email address and can cast your vote. (Voters must be 13 years or older and a legal resident of the U.S. or Washington, D.C.) You can vote multiple times throughout the contest, but only one vote per day will be counted.
The grand prize winner will receive a summer vacation valued up to $10,000, free smoothies for a year, $1,000 and a smoothie party for the winning school and free smoothies for a year for the nominator.
Voting ends on May 9.
