It's been over 20 years since Animal Planet premiered The Crocodile Hunter, making Steve Irwin a beloved household name. Now, more than a decade after Irwin's untimely death, his family is set to return to the network that started it all.Animal Planet announced Wednesday that Irwin's widow, Terri, and his children, Bindi and Robert, are carrying on his legacy with new television projects on the network. It's not yet clear what the television shows will be, but given the family's specialties, chances are they will feature exotic animals of all kinds. "Steve Irwin was a champion for all wildlife and he and Terri's excitement and enthusiasm brought viewers from around the world in touch with nature," Patrice Andrews, general manager of Animal Planet, said in a press release. "Their passion for animals, love for their family, and leadership in conservation awareness left a strong legacy that continues today. We are thrilled to have Terri, Bindi, and Robert back in the Animal Planet family."Of course, the Irwins haven't shied away from the spotlight before this. Bindi won the Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars in 2015, and Robert hosted the Discovery Kids series Wild But True and appeared several times on The Tonight Show. Terri has been an outspoken activist for conservation and supports the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in Cape York.The family posted a video on Instagram to celebrate the big announcement. "Watch out for next year," Bindi said in the clip. "We have wonderful new adventures coming to your television screen."
