Disney announced plans on Saturday at the D23 Expo to open an immersive Star Wars-themed hotel as part of Orlando's Walt Disney World's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which is set to open in 2019.As part of the immersive experience, the entire hotel will be designed to look like a starship. In addition to the hotel's employees staying in-costume and in-character during your entire stay, you'll also get to dress up in your own Star Wars-garb too. Starting to sound a little like Westworld with lightsaber battles instead of gunslingers? Apparently each hotel guest will also "immediately enter into their own 'story line' and undertake 'secret missions,'" Vulture reports."From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story," said Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "You'll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails…Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits."Disney even installed fake windows with fake views so that a view of Florida won't ruin the experience.If you've watched enough of Westworld to uh, have a bad feeling about this, we can only hope that the androids you'll find here will more of the friendly R2-D2 variety and not the murderous sort.
