Wreck of the last ship of famed Anglo-Irish explorer Shackleton found off the coast of Canada

Wreck of the last ship of famed Anglo-Irish explorer Shackleton found off the coast of Canada
The endurance was a ship that sailed the seas more than a century ago, but in 1915, it sank in Antarctica, never to be seen again. Until now. Recently, the endurance 22 expedition went out in search of the vessel and they seem to have found it. This video was captured at a depth of 9869 ft below water in the Weddell Sea that's nearly two miles down. And the find and dive were no easy feat because of that. It took a multidisciplinary team of archaeologists, scientists, extreme weather filmmakers and polar research and logistics teams to achieve something. Many are calling the world's most challenging shipwreck search, which they say has also broken several world records in the process, but it seems to be worth it as the boat is in incredible shape even after 107 years underwater. Here's what the director of exploration on the mission men's inbound had to say about the discovery. This is by far the finest wooden shipwreck I've ever seen. It is upright, well proud of the seabed intact and in a brilliant state of preservation. You can even see endurance parked across the stern, directly below the taf rail. The area has now been classified as a historic site and monument under the antarctic treaty
