Rebooting classic series is quite the popular thing to do these days — and now it's time for The Munsters to get a 21st century remake.
The 1960s comedy about a family of sweet and harmless monsters is making its way back to screens thanks to Seth Meyers and NBC, according to .
The new version, which chat show host Meyers is working on with Odd Mom Out creator Jill Kargman, will follow the original's format as a half-hour sitcom—and it has a pretty edgy twist.
Instead of living at the famous 1313 Mockingbird Lane in Mockingbird Heights, California, the new Munsters will find it hard to fit in in hipster Brooklyn.
The original Munsters aired on CBS for two seasons and 70 episodes from 1964-66.
NBC as an hour-long series from writer Bryan Fuller back in 2012, but although the pilot led to a Halloween special (directed by Bryan Singer and starring Jerry O'Connell, Portia de Rossi and Eddie Izzard, no less), it .
Still, now Seth Meyers and Jill Kargman are bringing it back as a traditional sitcom, let's hope this remake is more successful.
There's no word yet on when we'll get to see the new Munsters, but Kargman is writing the first script.
