Many times, flowers from weddings go to waste when the ceremony ends. But a program called "Scent with Love" is making sure those flowers help bring joy to others."Scent with Love is to re-purpose and recycle flowers to places that could use them," founder Shannon Haldeman said. "A lot of brides will throw away their flowers after their wedding day, and we would like them to brighten someone else's day."Haldeman sent flowers to The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center, a pediatric hospital and day care facility for medically fragile children.Pam Schanwald, the CEO of the center, found inspiration in the program."I am getting married at the end of October, and I thought, 'What better way to share my day with the staff and families than to have my flowers delivered to the children's home for everybody to enjoy?'" Schanwald said.Scent with Love also delivers to nursing homes, women's shelters and other organizations."It's a great way to bring hope and smiles," Schanwald said.
