A Hamilton County judge ruled no bond will be issued for the man accused of running into and killing a sheriff's deputy last week near the campus of the University of Cincinnati.In a bond hearing Tuesday morning, judge Tyrone Yates did not issue a bond for Rodney Hinton Jr., who has been charged with aggravated murder. Note: Technical issues caused the courtroom feed to cutout for a few seconds at a time.Investigators said Hinton intentionally ran over recently retired deputy Larry Henderson.Hinton's attorney, Clyde Bennett, entered a "not guilty" plea on his behalf at the outset of the hearing.One witness was called and spoke, Cincinnati police officer Carl Beebe, who was called to the scene after Henderson was hit.Officer Beebe said witnesses were concerned about Hinton's emotional state after he, and other family members, were at Cincinnati police's Criminal Investigation Section to view body camera footage of an incident the following day that led to an officer shooting and killing Ryan Hinton, 18, the son of Hinton Jr.Beebe testified that Deputy Henderson was on patrol for traffic control duties during UC's graduation weekend. He was standing at a control box used to cycle light for graduation ceremonies while in full uniform and a traffic vest.Footage at the intersection exists, Beebe said, with a mounted camera showing the aftermath. Bus video captured the crash itself, as well as officers speaking with witnesses in the area."Everybody said he accelerated and was traveling at a high speed right up to the time he struck Deputy Henderson," Beebe said.Beebe said Hinton pulled into a left turn lane used to turn into Burnett Woods, but stopped well short of the intersection with traffic stopped and no vehicles in front of him. That's when, Beebe says, Hinton's car accelerated quickly eastbound, crossed into oncoming lanes with no traffic in his way.According to Beebe, Hinton went left of road markers, through the intersection and hit Henderson and a utility pole in the northeast corner of the intersection. Hinton made no attempt to stop or deviate from the path, Beebe said."Everyone says he accelerated and was traveling at a high rate of speed all the way up until he struck Deputy Henderson," Beebe testified.After the crash, Beebe said, Henderson was thrown several feet into the air. He was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead a couple of hours later.Hinton was found inside the vehicle. Beebe said Hinton was charged with murder based on witness testimony and video.On cross examination, Bennett asked Beebe about Hinton Jr.'s mental state, and proceeded to indicate he would file for a mental competency hearing for Hinton at a future date.Through Bennet, Hinton declined to speak during the hearing."Not disappointed in no bond," Bennett told 바카라게임's Giacomo Luca after the hearing. "I believe my client was mentally ill at the time of the offense. I want him to get treatment.
