Rhoden family: Child at center of custody battle is safe
Two Pike County grandmothers accused of helping to cover up the slayings for four of their family members are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning.
Rita Newcomb was indicted on three counts of forgery, one count of obstructing justice and one count of perjury.
Fredericka Wagner was indicted on one count of obstructing justice and one count of perjury.
According to an indictment, both women lied to a grand jury in July.
The indictment also alleges that Newcomb forged a custody document 19 days before eight members of the Rhoden family were murdered.
Newcomb's daughter, Angela Wagner, and Fredericka Wagner's son, George "Billy" Wagner III along with their children, Edward "Jake" Wagner and George Wagner IV, each face eight counts of aggravated murder and a long list of other charges.
The Wagners are accused of killing eight members of the Rhoden family on April 22, 2016.
The connection between the two families is Jake Wagner and Hanna Rhoden. They had a daughter together. Sophia was 2 years old at the time of the killings.
Investigators say the Wagners were obsessed with taking control of Sophia.
A Rhoden family members told 바카라게임 that Sophia is currently safe and in the care of Scioto County Children Services.
Although prosecutors declined to discuss details of the custody battle, the Rhoden family said the Wagners tried to get Hanna Rhoden to sign her rights over to Jake Wagner weeks before the massacre.
Of all the victim's children, Sophia was the only one not present during the shootings.
