Larry Barron, aka LB the Poet, isn't your typical teacher.Once a week, Barron teaches a spoken word workshop at Winston-Salem Street School, an alternative high school for at-risk students who have struggled in traditional settings.Barron challenges his students to write what they feel without the fear of being judged. Part of that includes sharing it with their peers, a daunting task for some."If I can give them insight, speak a little bit of life into them, help them understand who they really are and the power that they have in themselves, we can change a life," Barron said.
