NASA will be connecting thousands of students throughout the U.S. and elsewhere on Thursday to some of the .
'Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day' will bring science and learning directly to students via this interactive and educational event. NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida will provide classrooms with live access to women leaders around the agency from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., allotted with 30 minute time slots.
The scientists will be connecting with students via NASA's Digital Learning Network (DLN).
Participants include: Nancy Bray, director of Kennedy's Spaceport Integration and Services Directorate; Charlie Blackwell, Thompson, director of Exploration Mission-1 launch; and Jessica Parsons, engineer at Ground Systems Development and Operations integration, who will also be presenting in Spanish.
The event is one of many during National Engineers Week, running Feb. 19-25 and coincides with worldwide celebration of "Girl's Day" on Thursday.
NASA is doing several events during National Engineers Week to encourage students to enter educational and career-oriented STEM paths.
