Jury in Pike County massacre trial start process with visit to multiple murder scenes
The first stop for jurors who will soon listen to opening arguments in George Wagner IV's murder trial was a remote plot of land on the 4000 block of Union Hill Road.
That's where investigators said members of the Wagner family killed Chris Rhoden Sr. and his cousin, Gary Rhoden, in April 2016.
The trailer that two of the Rhodens were in at the time was removed and preserved as evidence.
바카라게임 investigator Todd Dykes watched as the 12 jurors and six alternates walked the property to better understand the place and time with regard to what's become known as the Pike County massacre.
The first scene the jury viewed Wednesday is connected by a grass path to the second scene. The only remnant left of the trailer where police said Hanna Gilley and her fiancé Frankie Rhoden were killed is a wooden deck, filled with a few weather-beaten children's toys.
From there, jurors traveled on a gravel road to see the area where 44-year-old Kenneth Rhoden was murdered execution-style in a camper.
Then, jurors ended up back on Union Hill Road, at a piece of property where detectives said members of the Wagner family shot and killed Hannah Rhoden, her brother Chris Rhoden Jr. and their mom, Dana Rhoden.
A custody dispute involving a child that Hannah Rhoden and George Wagner's brother, Jake, had been cited as the motive for the 2016 massacre.
The jury view process will continue Thursday with site visits to see the trailers where the murders happened.
