New creatures, illustrations set for updated book-turned-film series
J.K. Rowling is updating the Hogwarts Library.
A new edition of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" was announced Thursday on Harry Potter series author's website. Six new creatures will be added to the original 2001 book, due out March 14, along with a foreword from fictional Magizoologist Newt Scamander and illustrations.
The book comes just months after the release of film version of "Fantastic Beasts," which has grossed more than since hitting theaters Nov. 18.
As a supplement to Rowling's bestselling fantasy series, "Fantastic Beasts" takes the form of a textbook "written" by Scamander and used by students at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. According to Pottermore, the updated edition brings the original "in line with recent devlopments in the Wizarding World.
Proceeds from book sales will go toward Comic Relief and Rowling's children's charity Lumos.
