Baptist Church has *** rich history in plains Georgia. Its first service was held May 22, initially called Botsford Baptist Church. The original congregation simply looking for *** place to worship peacefully. This church was founded by 29 members. that left *** church because they didn't allow people to look like me inside the church. Back in the early seventies. Within *** few short weeks, the church took the name Marina Baptist Church. Marina meaning Lord come. Members picked that name to instill *** sense of peace and hope during *** time of persecution, To date the church stays true to its core values, aiming to be Christ like and share Christ with as many people as possible. It gathers at its first and only campus completed in December of 1978, led by pastor Tony Lotus and I am truly honored by God being able to choose me to be here. At one of the congregation members, Loden served for years. President, Jimmy Carter. Carter was an active member of the church teaching Sunday school classes for most of his adult life. Pastor Loden says he and Carter saw eye to eye on an important message, being able to change our nation, being able to change the world of one person at *** time. Do something good for somebody, look at them differently. In other words, show them compassion, show them love and be able to know that we can change our world. We don't have to live the way we are.
