On Monday, author Imbolo Mbue became the latest writer to have their book added to Oprah Winfrey's famed book club. Mbue's debut novel ""Behold the Dreamers" was published last year and won the PEN/Faulkner Award for fiction, an honor previously given to Philip Roth and Ann Patchett, among others. The book tells of an immigrant from Cameroon who becomes the chauffeur for a Lehman Brothers executive not long before the 2008 financial crisis.Winfrey could soon make Mbue a household name, like many authors before her who have been featured in 'Oprah's Book Club.' Winfrey first began the book club on her talk show in 1996 and has helped dozens of books become best sellers. From 1996 to 2011, 55 million copies of books that were featured in the talk show host's book club have been sold, according to a Fordham University estimate. Winfrey's star power isn't limited to helping authors. The 63-year-old also lends her famous name to businesses. In 2015, she purchased a 10% stake in Weight Watchers while also becoming a spokesperson for the company. 온라인 바카라 게임 of her business move sent Weight Watchers stock soaring.
