First responders hold procession for Hamilton County deputy who was hit, killed
First responders around the Greater Cincinnati area held a procession for the Hamilton County deputy who was hit by a car and later died on Friday.
It happened around 1 p.m., along Martin Luther King Drive and Burnet Woods Drive near the University of Cincinnati's campus, where graduation commencements were being held.
Cincinnati police said a Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy was outside of his vehicle, directing traffic at the intersection when he was struck by a vehicle entering the intersection.
The deputy was taken to UC Medical Center, where he died. He was not identified by police on Friday.
On Friday night, police departments across the area held a procession for the fallen deputy.
Dozens of Hamilton County sheriff바카라 게임 웹사이트s vehicles gathered in the parking lot of the coroner바카라 게임 웹사이트s office in Blue Ash, waiting for the deputy to arrive.
The procession went north on Interstate-71 to I-275 westbound and eventually on to Reed Hartman Highway.
"He was so well-liked and so well-known, we could fill this building with the law enforcement agencies that respect him (and) love him," Hamilton County sheriff Charmaine McGuffey said.
According to Cincinnati police, the father of the 18-year-old who was shot and killed by Cincinnati police on Thursday was driving the car that hit and killed the deputy.
Police identified the driver as Rodney Hinton Jr., 38. He was charged with aggravated murder in the deputy's death.
