County, Bengals request $350 million from state for Paycor Stadium renovations
Hamilton County and the Bengals are asking the state for $350 million to go toward renovations of Paycor Stadium.
The county announced Thursday they have jointly submitted a request with the Bengals to the State of Ohio for an investment to renovate the stadium.
It comes a day after state House lawmakers passed a budget plan that includes a controversial plan to give $600 million in bonds for a new Cleveland Browns stadium. The budget now heads to the state Senate.
County commissioners also shared their proposal plan for the stadium, scheduled for 2026-2028.
The proposal states that "because Hamilton County and the Team took care of the Stadium and protected the taxpayer바카라 게임 웹사이트s investment, constructing a new NFL stadium is not necessary."
Now, they're proposing a renovation project, with a price tag of $830 million.
Renovations would include:
- Stadium-wide vertical transportation improvements
- Infrastructure upgrades and maintenance
- Canopy and roofing system replacement
- North End Zone transformation
- Club and suite renovations
- New field-level club, suites, and seats
- Concourse and plaza improvements
- Enhanced entry and security technology
- Modernized stadium A/V systems
The proposal states a renovation aims to extend the stadium's life while avoiding the $2.4 billion price tag of a new stadium.
The proposal also highlighted the economic impacts of The Banks, where the stadium currently lives, saying, "contemporaneous with the comprehensive renovation of Paycor Stadium, the County and City intend to spur $500 million in additional development directly adjacent to Paycor Stadium."
