Gov. DeWine orders flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of fallen deputy Larry Henderson
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has ordered that flags across the state be flown at half-staff to honor fallen Hamilton County sheriff's deputy Larry Henderson.
The order will take place across all of Hamilton County, in addition to the Ohio Statehouse, the Vern Rifle Center, and the Rhodes State Office Tower.
Additionally, all other public buildings in the state will be permitted to fly flags at half-staff at their discretion.
The order will take effect Sunday night and last until sunset on the day of Henderson's funeral.
Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey said on Sunday that funeral arrangements for Henderson will be publicly announced soon.
Henderson was struck and killed by a car near the University of Cincinnati's campus on Friday while helping to direct traffic during graduation day there.
The driver, Rodney Hinton Jr., was arrested and charged with aggravated murder in connection with the crash, which prosecutors allege was an act of revenge for his son, Ryan Hinton, who was killed by Cincinnati police the day before.
On Friday, in the immediate hours after Henderson was killed, DeWine offered his condolences to those who knew him, writing, "Fran and I are saddened to learn about the Hamilton County deputy hit by a vehicle and killed in the line of duty today. I have been briefed on the ongoing investigation and am sickened by what appears to be an intentional act of violence. We offer our sincere condolences to the deputy바카라 게임 웹사이트s family, friends, and colleagues."
