For officers of police departments located in two New England states, a little girl's show of gratitude was the best part of their day.
Eight-year-old Rosalyn Baldwin is on a mission to hug police officers across all 50 states, and she's already more than halfway through her journey. Recently, she visited the Portland and South Portland police departments in Maine, as well as the Northfield Police Department in Vermont.
Rosalyn's mother says her daughter was taken aback by the police shootings in Dallas and Baton Rouge, and recognized that police officers risk their lives nearly every day while on the job. It was this realization that inspired Rosalyn to start her quest in January 2017, and she's well on her way toward reaching her goal.
