The funeral and procession for Fire Apparatus Operator Daryl Gordon begin Wednesday morning.Cincinnati Firefighters Local 48 and city officials announced road closures and procession information for the funeral.The walking procession to the cathedral begins at 8:55 a.m. with Engine 14. It will begin at Cincinnati Fire Department Station 14 on Central Avenue, pass the Greater Cincinnati Firefighters Memorial Park, head east on Sixth Street and turn north onto Plum Street before entering the cathedral.Interactive procession mapThe procession is expected to include about 250 fire trucks from departments across the Greater Cincinnati area. It will travel through Cincinnati, Springfield Township, Wyoming, Woodlawn, Glendale and Springdale.Because of the extensive procession, several streets will be closed.City officials announced Ninth Street between Central Avenue and Linn Street will be closed Wednesday beginning at 6 a.m. Mound Street will remain open for drivers to access Interstate 75.Beginning at 7:30 a.m., all of the following streets will be closed:- Seventh Street from Linn to Elm Streets- All ramps leading to Seventh Street from Gest Street and I-75- Sixth Street between Elm Street and Central Avenue- Fifth Street between Central Avenue and Elm Street- All Ramps leading to Fifth Street from I-75- Fourth Street between Plum Street and Central Avenue- Central Avenue between Third Street and Ninth Street- Plum Street between Ninth and Sixth streetsRoads will reopen after the procession passes.Click here to watch live coverage of the funeral services.
