SUNDAY COMING UP. TIFFANY. KATIE. THANK YOU. WE ARE LEADING THE WAY WITH BREAKING NEWS. A MAN IS DEAD AFTER A SERIOUS CRASH IN PADDOCK HILLS OVERNIGHT. NOW, THIS HAPPENED SHORTLY BEFORE 12:30 A.M. ON READING ROAD BETWEEN VICTORY PARKWAY AND AVON DRIVE, AND YOU CAN SEE THE CAR THERE. IT IS JUST MANGLED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CINCINNATI POLICE TELL US THAT A 53 YEAR OLD MAN DIED AT THE SCENE, AND NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. THEY SAY THAT VICTIM HAD A GUNSHOT WOUND, BUT IT IS NOT CLEAR HOW HE WAS SHOT. K-9 UNITS SEARCHED THE AREA FOR A POSSIBLE SECOND VICTIM, BUT THEY DID NOT FIND ANYONE. THE TRAFFIC UNIT AND THE HOMICIDE UNIT ARE NOW INVESTIGATING. AND THAT ROAD REOPEN

Cincinnati police are investigating after a deadly crash occurred in Paddock Hills early Saturday morning. The crash occurred on the 4300 block of Reading Road at approximately 12:37 a.m. Police say the single-vehicle crash involved a 2013 Ford Explorer that was being driven by a 53-year-old man. According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. The driver sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was transported to the UC Medical Center. The driver later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.On Monday, the Hamilton County coroner identified the man as Ricky Baskins, of Cincinnati.Police say that it remains unknown at this time if Baskins was wearing a seatbelt. However, speed and impairment are being investigated as contributing factors to the crash.The Cincinnati Police Department's Traffic and Homicide Units are continuing to investigate the crash. Witnesses to the incident are asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Department's Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
