Police: Westwood woman accused of falsely reporting officer misconduct
Colerain Township Police have arrested a woman who allegedly made a false report of officer misconduct following her previous arrest last June.
Police said Kenyada Hinton, 37, was arrested in June of 2023 for operating a vehicle under the influence.
After her arrest, Hinton filed a complaint that alleged she was sexually assaulted inside of a holding facility restroom as she attempted to provide a urine sample.
After Hinton's complaint was filed, bodycam video was sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation for an independent investigation.
After reviewing the case, BCI declined to open a formal investigation based on "the lack of evidence to support any criminal offense," police said.
Colerain Township Police detectives also reviewed the incident and said that no officers were inside the restroom where Hinton alleged the misconduct happened.
On Friday, Hinton was interviewed by Colerain Township Police and according to officers, continued to repeat the allegations from the complaint.
Hinton was charged with making a false allegation of police misconduct, a misdemeanor.
Upon being taken into custody at the Colerain Police Department, officers found that Hinton was in possession of a loaded firearm. She was then charged with criminal trespass and taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
