The Cincinnati Bengals have drafted Miami Hurricanes guard Jalen Rivers with the 153rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.A Florida native, Rivers was an All-ACC honorable mention in 2025 as part of an offensive line that paved the way for the No. 1 offense in the country both in terms of points and yards per game.He was part of an offensive line that helped protect Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall draft pick in this year's draft.As a high school prospect, Rivers was a consensus four-star prospect and was the No. 4-rated player in the state of Florida by ESPN.This is the second-straight draft the Bengals have selected a Miami offensive lineman. They drafted center Matt Lee in the seventh round of last year's draft.NFL.com's prospect profile of Rivers gives him a prospect grade of 6.17, saying he could develop into a "good backup with the potential to develop into starter."NFL.com's Lance Zierlein, who had a fourth-round draft projection on him, says of Rivers, "A burly offensive lineman with natural anchor and above-average length, Rivers is best-suited for short spaces, where his athletic limitations can be mitigated...He works with stiff hips and below-average base footwork, which often short-circuit attempts to leverage and clear the gaps."Playing primarily right guard at Miami last season, he could compete for starting snaps with Cody Ford and Andrew Stueber once camp begins.
