Bearcats offensive lineman Williams drafted in seventh round by Green Bay Packers
Cincinnati Bearcats offensive lineman John Williams has been drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft.
Williams was the 250th pick of the draft, which is being hosted by the Packers this year.
The Illinois native finished his career in Clifton starting 24 consecutive games at left tackle for the Bearcats. He spent his entire collegiate career wearing the C Paw.
As a redshirt senior in 2024, Williams earned a 85.2 pass blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, the fourth-best in the Big 12 among tackles. He allowed just one QB hit over 823 snaps.
He was a key member of a Bearcat offensive line that ranked sixth in the Big 12 in total offense, averaging 420.6 yards per game.
Williams will work to earn a spot on an offensive line that ranked fifth in yards per game (370.8) and allowed the second-fewest sacks per game (1.3) a season ago.
The selection of Williams marks the 10th-consecutive NFL draft a Bearcat has had their name called.
