Does looking at your friends' vacations photos on Facebook and Instagram make you feel depressed that you're not also traveling? If so, at least one small town understands where you're coming from.Earlier this month, the tiny Swiss town of Bergün, located in Switzerland's canton of Graubünden, banned photography so that visitors won't make their friends and family jealous that they're missing out on such a beautiful place. They even went so far as placing a photo ban sign in town which reads, "Photographs of our picturesque landscape, shared on social media, can make others unhappy because they themselves cannot be here."But just how beautiful is this place? Well, it basically looks like something out of Heidi or the Sound Of Music.Plus, there are lots of adorable cows they don't want you to post photos of anymore.It's even pretty in the winter:But it turns out the ban isn't really working, since usage of the hashtag #bergün doesn't seem to be slowing down on Instagram.Some travelers have even taken selfies with the new photo ban sign, which was also posted to the town's website and social media accounts.But it seems like the new law might just be a publicity stunt designed to draw photographers there in the first place, since the town posted a video of the mayor of Bergün saying he's worked out a solution for photographers who want to come to his town."Until the friendly photography ban has officially been lifted, everyone with a camera will be given a friendly special permit," he says. "So now you can snap away!"But even though you won't face a fine for taking photographs in Bergün at the moment, the mayor asks all visitors to think carefully before you post your photos online just in case your Instagram will make people unhappy because they can't also be there.Fair enough.(h/t TODAY)
