"The Baby-Sitters Club" is back. Netflix ordered a 10-part miniseries based on the best-selling books by Ann M. Martin about friendship, growing up and female entrepreneurship Here's what we know so far:Casting details have yet to be shared publicly. That said, Deadline's post regarding the announcement offered an interesting bit of information: the live-action series will follow the "adventures of five best friends in Stoneybrook, Connecticut." Anyone who's a fan of the book series knows there are two types of members of the Baby-Sitters Club: original members and everyone else. This description of the plot seems to suggest the show will focus on Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacey and Dawn. But it's unclear if Mallory, Jesse, Logan, Abby or Shannon will appear in the series.Episodes will reportedly cover topics from the books, including racism and divorce. But per Deadline, the plot will also "explore relevant issues facing modern-day teens." That's probably a good thing, considering the fact that Claudia had her own phone line and played a pivotal role in the original book series. Original writer Ann M. Martin is on board.Thank goodness, because I don't think I could watch if she didn't approve. Martin will produce alongside Walden Media's Naia Cucukov. Rachel Shukert ("Glow") will serve as showrunner and Lucia Aniello ("Broad City") will direct and executive produce."I바카라 게임 웹사이트m amazed that there are so many passionate fans of 'The Baby-Sitters Club' after all these years, and I바카라 게임 웹사이트m honored to continue to hear from readers바카라 게임 웹사이트now grown, who have become writers, editors, teachers, librarians, filmmakers 바카라 게임 웹사이트 who say that they see a reflection of themselves in the characters of Kristy and her friends," Martin said of the project upon its announcement. This is hardly the first time the beloved chapter book series has been adapted for the screen. In 1990, the series' first TV adaptation aired on HBO and Nickelodeon.
