Hi. Yeah. Even before Covic, grocery delivery was getting super popular. But now, with co vid, we're all looking for safe and easy ways to shop Amazon, as you know. Ah, big player for grocery delivery. Sign up for prime order groceries online. Get them delivered to your doorstep. Now, Walmart is getting in on the action, launching Walmart. Plus. So how does it work? And how does it compare? We're going shopping to check price and delivery speed. Here we go. The push is on Wal Mart, plus launching across the country. Free unlimited delivery is a breeze. Could this be your new go to service? And how does it stack up against Amazon Prime? Let's start with the membership cost. Wal Mart Plus will cost you 12 95 a month for Amazon Prime. It's basically the same 12 99 a month. Both offer free trials to start, but what will the groceries cost? Okay, to find out, we've set up a little experiment here. This is my producer, Kelly. So we're both gonna be grocery shopping today working off the exact same grocery list. I'm gonna be on Walmart. Plus, you're gonna be on Amazon. We're gonna order the same stuff. Same stuff. Let's go for it. In some locations, they use Amazon fresh in our location. The only option is Amazon. Whole Foods Way. Order over a dozen items. Exactly the same brands and sizes. Honey nut Cheerios ordered on Amazon kinds, granola bars and to cart. Let's do a pint of talent. Ease ice cream to Kurt. We order grocery essentials like horizon. Whole milk ordered on Walmart ordered on Amazon bananas. Ordered ordered pita chips. Check. Okay, we've ordered everything. It's the moment of truth. How much this all cost a Walmart Plus compared to Amazon. Alright, so we have gotten the same stuff. Our cards are the same, right? Same brand, same everything. Everything all right? So you go first. All right. So, as you know, Amazon uses whole foods. My grand total. $105.71. Okay, 105 71. What was yours? Walmart, plus my total for the same stuff. And you are 105 71. I'm 84 43. That's a huge difference. Walmart Plus a lot cheaper. Wow, That's right. Walmart Plus is $21. 28 cents cheaper for the same exact items. But how will they do on delivery? Wal Mart Plus and Amazon Prime both offer free delivery on orders of $35 or MAWR. So we qualify. We're in the middle of the afternoon. We're ordering, and it's saying that today is not available. The first time that I can get it delivered to my door is tomorrow. And so I guess I'm gonna take that first window at 7 a.m. It's a two hour window from seven. AM to nine AM. Yeah, and it's free. So I guess I'm gonna take it. Okay. So was I. Check out here. Wal Mart is saying for them to deliver it to me today. Within two hours, two hours or less. I have to sign up for their express service for $10. So I have to pay extra money to get it delivered today. But for this experiment, we're not doing that. The next time I could get it delivered for free. You got You're getting yours tomorrow morning. The first opening. The first window for me is tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. That's more than 24 hours from now. 5 p.m. To 6 p.m. That's the first available one tomorrow, so I'll do that the next morning. Amazon arrives right on time. Remember, our window is between 7 to 9 a.m. They're at our doorstep with our groceries at 701 AM and the order is accurate with one substitution. Now toe Walmart. The groceries work cheaper, but we have big problems with the delivery. Remember our windows from 5 to 6 p.m. As day turned tonight. No sign of Walmart. Our order stuck on preparing 55 36 6 30. Finally, at 6 54 PM, it arrives almost an hour late and mawr problems. Four items were substituted and three were out of stock entirely. Walmart telling Rossen reports. While this is not the feedback we want to hear, it helps us get better. We're working hard day in, day out toe, offer Maurin mawr delivery availability and ensure that we have the items our customers want in stock. Then we asked Amazon why their groceries were so much more expensive. The company telling us we are continuing to lower our prices for customers across the store, both services still working out the kinks as the grocery wars heat up. By the way, both memberships Amazon Prime and Wal Mart plus offer other perks to Amazon includes entertainment like music, movies and game streaming.
