Police: FC Cincinnati's Boupendza suffered broken jaw after alleged altercation downtown
FC Cincinnati striker Aaron Boupendza was allegedly involved in an altercation in downtown Cincinnati that led to him suffering a broken jaw, police sources confirmed to 바카라게임 on Friday.The altercation came around 2 a.m. Monday and started in a downtown Cincinnati bar, sources with the Cincinnati Police Department said.Sources confirmed that there was no radio call to the bar because Boupendza allegedly went directly to the hospital after sustaining the injury. He then stopped by a police station to file a report after he was released. Police have not charged anyone in connection with the incident at this time because investigators are still working to get surveillance video from the bar before confirming Boupendza's story.Boupendza, 27, will be out of match action for six to eight weeks while he recovers from the injury, the club confirmed earlier this week.After a strong preseason, Boupendza has played his way on to the bench, with Japanese National Team member and soccer Swiss army knife Yuya Kubo taking his spot at the starting striker position. Boupendza has played in 10 matches to begin the 2024 campaign, starting five of them.FC Cincinnati signed Boupendza as a designated player in June of 2023, with his first game coming against Nashville SC in July. The Gabonese striker scored in his first appearance and performed a backflip celebration after. The need for Boupendza arrived after then-striker Brenner Souza da Silva was sold to Italian Serie A side Udinese. When reached for comment, FC Cincinnati declined to comment further than their statement on Boupendza's injury. The club did state, however, that Boupendza had a successful surgery on Thursday and is expected to make a full recovery.
