"The Black Dhalia" was the nickname given to Elizabeth Short who was the victim of a murder in 1947. The murder was particularly heinous and included the victime being sliced in half at her waist. The body was discovered in Leimert Park, California and is still unsolved to this day.

SS Ourang Medan
In 1947 the SS Ourang Medan was at sea in Malaysia and transmitted an SOS message that detailed that the captain and the entire crew was dead. The telegrapher died during the transmission of this message, and when the nearest ship was able to reach the boat, they discovered that everyone aboard was in fact dead. To this day there has been no conclusion as to the reason for the death of the entire crew aboard the ship.

Bigfoot is the name given to what has been seen in the mountainous regions of the United States and Canada. The creature resembles a gorilla but it's posture is that of a human. Still to this day people claim to have seen the creature but no real evidence has been obtained regarding it's existance.

DB Cooper is the name given to the man who hijacked a Boeing 727 on November 24, 1971, along with $200,000 and he proceeded to jump out of the plane with a parachute. Despite and extensive manhunt Cooper was never located and remains the only unsolved case in American aviation history.

One beach in British Columbia has been seeing severed feet wash ashore consistently for the past several years, although nobody is able to determine why or where they are coming from.

The Shroud of Turin is a cloth in which a deceased person was wrapped in and it contains an imprint of a man's face, whom some believe to be the imprint of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The nature of the image and how it was transferred to the cloth, along with it's actual subject is unknown.

The Mackenzie Poltergeist in Greyfairs
Located in the Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, Scotland the Mackenzie Poltergeist has allegedly attacked numerous people touring the tomb. Many of those who claim they have been attacked while taking the tour have experienced bruises, scratches and some have even fainted. It is thought that a poltergeist is responsible for all of these alleged attacks.

Lost City of Atlantis
The notion of the City of Atlantis is based on Plato had noted during his time alive, which was that Atlantis existed based on stories he had overheard during his journeys. The City of Atlantis is said to have sunk deep into the ocean, leading many to wonder what happened to this supposed once great city.

The Nazca civilization etched lines into desert sands which created amazing images from the connected lines. The lines are presumed to have been created between 500 BC and 500 AD. This is particularly impressive because the Nazca had no way of seeing the final product of their work.

Humming in Taos, New Mexico
If you listen intently in the town of Taos, New Mexico you will be able to hear a small buzzing that has been compared to the sound of a diesel engine running in the distance. The sound can be heard by the naked ear, but has not been able to be picked up by sound detection devices. This noise is known as the Taos Hum and still to this day no one knows what is creating the noise.

The Bermuda Triangle is an area of ocean where pilots of ships and planes have noted instruments going haywire, in addition to vessels being lost in this expanse of ocean. The area is located between the three points of Miami, Bermuda, and San Juan.

Kryptos is a sculpture created by Jim Sanborn that is located outside the CIA headquarters in langley, Virginia. The sculpture contains four inscription sections that were created to show that everything can be decoded through the use of patterns and clues. Unfortunately only the first three sections have been solved. All those who have tried to decode the fourth section, including the CIA have failed.

In one of his pockets was a piece of paper that had the words "Taman Shud" written on them. These words were translated to mean "finished" or "ended" based on excerpts that were found in a book. Different government agencies around the world tried to solve the identity of the man but it still remains a mystery to this day.
